One clear answer, evidence attached.
HuntFish is a private assistant for hunters and anglers. It answers with a short recommendation, the facts behind it, what to watch out for, and one next step. You see the maximum cost before anything runs and pay only for what actually happened.
Ask like you would ask a friend who reads the rulebook.
Type your question the way you’d say it. Before it runs, a small chip shows the maximum it could cost (most questions are under 10 credits). Questions that depend on rules, access or current conditions are answered from official sources or HuntFish says plainly that it could not verify — it never guesses at the law.
You ask
“Is it legal to shoot a doe this weekend in my county?” — or add a photo and ask what it shows.
HuntFish quotes
The chip says “Up to 9 credits”. Nothing runs until you send.
Evidence first
The official pages we watch for your state are pulled in with the text that matters and when we last checked it. A photo goes only as a metadata-free copy.
One answer, one receipt
Recommendation, why, watch out, next step — and a receipt for exactly what was used.
Trip Cards keep their evidence and their version.
Turn any answer into a Trip Card for a date and place. The card keeps the evidence it was built from, each piece with the time it was retrieved, and a version number — so you always know how old it is, and nothing is quietly rewritten.
- Each evidence card carries its own retrieved-at time. No universal “verified today” badge.
- Observed, forecast, calculated, reported, inferred and regulatory are labeled separately.
- Old evidence says how old it is instead of pretending to be fresh.

Straight answers.
Is HuntFish free?
Joining is free and every verified account starts with 100 credits. Nothing is charged until you approve a paid action, and you always see the maximum before it runs.
What is a credit?
One credit is one cent of usage. Answers typically use a few credits; each research step quotes its maximum before it runs (up to 18 credits), a whole Scout never spends past your per-Scout maximum (25 credits by default, adjustable in Settings → Spending), and you only pay for what actually ran.
Do credits expire?
Purchased credits do not expire while your account is open. Promotional credits, when we offer them, say their terms up front.
Does HuntFish tell me where to hunt or fish on private land?
No. HuntFish never turns other people’s private observations into a heatmap and never treats public ownership as permission. Lease Scout helps you ask the landowner by mail — it never assumes access.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. Export is free in Settings → Privacy; delete your account in Settings → Account. Deletion is immediate and removes your places, photos, plans, Scouts and connector grants.
Which AI providers does HuntFish use?
Anthropic models at launch, through server-side adapters. The app asks before sending anything to an outside provider and names the provider. Prompts, precise coordinates and photo URLs are never logged.
